Fire Tornado During 8/3/2011 Wildfire

Hey Mark,

I sent this picture to spotnews@kvue.com from the fire grounds, but I don't know if it made it through or not. This is a picture of a small fire tornado that occurred in front on me and my partner Wednesday afternoon at a large brush fire on CR320 and CR419 in Lee County. It started out just to our right (East) then it jumped over about 40 feet to the left (West) and started up again giving the photo oppurtunity. It was short lived, probably cause Derrick nailed it with water, but it was still an interesting moment to say the least. This is the second one I have encountered this year due to this extreme drought. We were out there for about 5 1/2 hours along with five other departments and the Texas Forest Service.

Thank you,
Michael Milburn
Assistant Chief LVFD
