This appears to be a reflection of the sun on Arctic Ice cap, similar to "Northern lights". The skies had to be cloud free to be able to see this all the way down here in Texas, and it only appeared for a matter of minutes before completely disappearing. The shot was take on a hill east of Taylor around 9pm...It was beautiful...Dave Blanchard
