Yutaka Oyama is a two-time winner (2001, 2002) of the National Folkloric Music Association’s Tsugaru Shamisen Contest in Japan.
Masahiro Nitta is the 2 time award winner of the Kanagi National Tsugaru Shamisen Championship.
Japanese sweets and sushi rolls are available for free sampling and tasting. Green tea and drinks will be available for purchase during the intermission.
This concert is generously supported by Asahi Imports, Ryu of Japan, Sushi-A-Go-Go, and St. Matthews Episcopal Church and is presented in partnership with the Japan Foundation New York.
100% of proceeds from this concert will go to the Japan Relief Fund.
