Apache and Cheyenne were turned into the Bastrop shelter as part of a litter of 9 pups at 3 weeks old. Luckily APA was able to rescue them and put them all in loving foster homes. These cuties are now almost ready for adoption (in 2 weeks they will be 8 weeks old, spayed/neutered and ready to go!). Both pups have been raised in a home with dogs, cats and children (ages 5 and 8) and play happily and snuggle with all of the above! Cheyenne (bottom two pics) is the go-getter. She's adventurous and bold, and tends to lead all pup endeavours in the foster home. She is also very sweet and loves to snuggle. Apache (top two pics) is the sweetheart. He is loving and unassuming, likes to sit back and watch before jumping in. He's the resident kitty's favorite because he plays so gently, they lay side by side and paw and tussle. Apache loves to snuggle and be held, and especially enjoys being held like a baby and having his belly rubbed.
Both pups are learning to go potty outside, love to play with their puppy toys, follow their foster mom everywhere and come running when called.
Apache and Cheyenne were taken off of the euthanasia list, so if you adopt one of them, you are saving not only them but also the next dog Austin Pets Alive! can save in their place!
