Pflugerville Hawks make State Championship Games

Youth Football Teams - TX Championships

The Pflugerville Hawks Youth Football & Cheer will field 3 football teams in this year's Texas Youth Football Association (TYFA) State Championships. The Division 1 Flag (5-6 years) and Senior (12&13 years) teams will compete Sunday December 5th, 2010 at Texas A&M University's Kyle Field in College Station. On Sunday December 12, 2010 the Division 2 Flag team will play at Baylor University's Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco. TYFA will be the first youth football organization welcomed to the Baylor stadium proving they are the premier youth football organization in the state of Texas.
These athletes have practiced three days a week since mid July for this opportunity and are scheduled to practice this week at Dessau Middle School Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30pm.

Plfugerville Hawks Football & Cheer is a volunteer run youth football league for athletes from 3 to 13 yrs old. They are members of the Texas Youth Football Association (TYFA). In 5 short years they've grown to 10 football teams and 6 cheer squads. The 2010 season enrolled 300+ athletes from the Pflugerville & surrounding areas. These 3 teams won their State Semi Final games held this last weekend in San Antonio. While the Hawks have won 3 TYFA championships over the years in various divisions, these are the first Hawk Flag teams (5 & 6 yr olds) to advance and the first year to have 3 divisions represented in the State Final games.

TYFA is one of the largest independent Leagues in the country and the largest in Texas. There are TYFA chapters in the greater metropolitan areas of San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and some squads from the Rio Grande Valley.
