I was driving down Barton Springs about 7 p.m. Tues. evening, and was so struck by the lush green of the park, and the way downtown Austin stood out against the black sky, that I had to pull over and take photos. There was a lull in the rain as I snapped these pictures, but as the buildings disappeared, I suddenly realized that a wall of water was heading my way. I hurried back to my car before the real torrential rain began. Moment over.
