CEDAR PARK, Texas -- Cedar Park water customers will soon be allowed to water their lawns only once a week as the city enters stage-three drought restrictions.

The city has implemented the restrictions due to “sustained low lake levels.”

The new restrictions will take effect on August 1, 2013. It will limit outdoor irrigation with sprinklers to once a week before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m.

Among the restrictions, no decorative water features, unless they support aquatic life. The city says pressure washing, Slip n’ Slides, residential car washing and charity car washes will also be banned.

Restaurants will also not be allowed to serve water unless requested. Water customers will be allowed to use irrigation sprinklers (within the restricted times), drip and soaker hoses and fill their pools once a week.

Commercial carwashes and hand watering can be done at anytime.

If you'd like to report water waste in our community, you can call the anonymous Water Conservation Hotline at 512.401.5308 or email conservation@cedarparktexas.gov with details of the alleged water violator.
