AUSTIN -- A hard freeze hit Central Texas Sunday night as the coldest temperatures since February of 2011 made their way into the region.
Low temperatures were expected to reach the mid-20s in the Austin area and mid to upper teens in the Hill Country.
Breezy conditions were on tap Sunday night with winds blowing from the north at 10 to 20 mph, gusting to 25 mph at times. Because of this the wind chill was expected to be in the teens in Austin.
Mostly sunny skies will return Monday, but residents should bundle up as highs will only reach the upper 30s. Breezy conditions will continue during the day on Monday with winds from the north at 10 tp 20 mph.
Another hard freeze is expected Monday night with a low temperature around 20 degrees in Austin.
