CENTRAL TEXAS - For the third time this year in Austin, triple digit heat is in the forecast for Friday.
Much of the state will be sizzling, with even a few spots in west Texas reporting their hottest temperatures so far this year. A Heat Advisory was issued for much of the area from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
Factor in the humidity, and heat index values will be in the dangerous category over much of the area.

The good news is, Friday will feature the hottest temperatures for at least the next week. A rare June frontal boundary will sag into the area on Saturday, allowing for scattered showers. This in turn will cool high temperatures to the upper 80s and low 90s for the weekend and early next week.
