AUSTIN -- Students are marching for higher education legislation at the State Capitol.
More than 130 students are expected to head to the north steps on Tuesday, hoping to see lawmakers invest in higher education.
Among those students is president of the Senate of College Councils Michael Morton. He helped organized the Invest in Texas student group, which supports increased state appropriations and financial aid funding.
Students are also pushing for plus-one insurance benefits to university employees, allowing UT Austin to determine its campus gun policy, and granting the UT System Student Regent a vote on the Board of Regents.
