The Annual Community March celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy while uplifting diversity and different cultures in our area.
President of the Austin NAACP Nelson Linder and volunteer coordinator of WUTG Austin Area Heritage Council Para Lanell Agboga sat down and spoke to KVUE.
The MLK Community March kicks off on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at 9 a.m. with a short program at the MLK statue on the University of Texas campus.
Free parking for the march is available at UFCU Disch-Falk Field (1300 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.), State Visitors Garage (corner of 12th St.and San Jacinto Blvd. - downtown Austin), Kealing Middle School (1607 Pennsylvania Ave.), Holy Cross Catholic Church (1610 E. 11th St.), Blackshear Elementary School (1712 E. 11th St.), Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church (1801 Pennsylvania Ave.), Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1206 E. Ninth St.) and Mt. Olive Baptist Church (1800 E. 11th St.).
