AUSTIN -- Police say a motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening after he tried to do a wheelie and crashed.
APD Corporal Eric Kilcollins says the victim and another motorcyclists were headed toward Parmer Lane at Lamplight Village and Brandywine in north Austin at about 5:00 p.m. when it happened.
Kilcollins says the victim, a white male, was found lying in the street. No one else was injured.
"A motorcycle can be dangerous. It doesn't matter where it is. On the highway or on the streets, it can be dangerous," said Kilcollins.
Kilcollins said the victim in Saturday night's crash was wearing a helmet. He also said alcohol could be a factor in the crash, but that it is still under investigation.
