AUSTIN -- Sunday was a big night for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas. The charity held its 30th annual Bowl for Kid's Sake fundraiser at the Highland Lanes on Burnet Road in North Austin.
About 600 people took part in the event, which had an 80s theme.

"We are, like I said, supporting children in our community. The kids who live right here who could use a little extra boost [from] the mentors that we have. And we have about 1,000 mentors on any given day supporting children in Austin," Melanie Chasteen with BBBS said.
Organizers hoped to raise $175,000 over the weekend. KVUE was the media partner for the event.
