TRAVIS COUNTY -- Firefighters worked two brush fires in Travis County on Monday afternoon.
One has burned 20 acres near Manor at 5311 Gilbert Road, near the intersection of FM 969 and SH 130. As of 4 p.m., officials told KVUE the fire is 85 percent contained. It was sparked by crews cutting grass.
The second fire was at 3219 Fall Creek Rd. in Spicewood. The Pedernales Fire Department tells KVUE no homes were threatened. That fire was out by 4:40 p.m. Officials say it began as a controlled burn but it spread, charring about ten acres.
STAR Flight helicopters were used to drop water on the fires at both locations.
