Motorcyclist identified in Southeast Austin fatal crash

AUSTIN -- Police have identified the motorcyclist who died in a collision Sunday night.

The accident happened in Southeast Austin around 7 p.m. Police say the motorcyclist, 40-year-old Sheldon Celedon, was driving along Montopolis and Hogan when he or she crashed into a vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The motorcyclist was ejected and later died at UMC Brackenridge. The driver of the vehicle was not seriously injured.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call APD Vehicular Homicide Unit detectives at (512) 974-8266. This is Austin's 64th traffic fatality of 2012. At this time in 2011, there were 45 traffic fatalities.
