WEST, Texas -- Family members got a chance to hear from the ATF before anyone else did.
About 150 people filled the First Baptist Church in West Thursday afternoon. Pastor John Crowder said the ATF wanted to talk with families before they heard any reports on the news.
"I think part of what makes that worse is the not knowing, we need the answers. These folks were able to provide a lot of those answers and at least narrow it down some of the things we don't know, they were able to narrow down and give us some sense of understanding. That helps a lot, just knowing," Crowder said.
Family members said no matter what the cause of the blast is nothing would bring back their loved ones.
"I wish I had my son back mainly," said Billy Uptmor. "A lot of those people lost their lives here and it's bad, real bad."
Pastor Crowder said the ATF gave a detailed presentation and even allowed people to ask questions.
