AUSTIN -- An upper-level storm system will approach the Central Texas area from the west over the next 24 hours, allowing for increased moisture from the south.
This system could produce a mix of snow and rain on Friday morning for areas of the Hill Country and Austin metro.
Small accumulations of snow will be possible over the Hill Country, but little to no accumulations in Austin. Roadways over the Hill Country should be monitored during the morning hours on Friday, but major issues are not anticipated.
The rain/snow mix will transition to a rain/sleet mix for a few hours Friday afternoon as this system moves east of Interstate 35. Patchy showers continue Friday night, and through the day on Saturday.
Rainfall amounts of 0.25” to 0.50” are possible. Skies will start to clear late Saturday allowing for a mainly sunny and warmer Sunday.
