AUSTIN -- A special pet adoption event will be held this month for those hoping to take home a furry friend in need.
The Austin Humane Society and the Austin Animal Center are teaming up for the Home for the Holidays event, which kicks off Thursday and lasts until Jan. 7.
Adoption fees will be $20, with fees waived for animals over five years old. Cats and kittens are 2-for-1. All pets will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and given a collar and tags.
“Every animal wants a safe home and a loving family,” said AHS Executive Director Frances Jonon. “We see so many people opening up their hearts to pets during the holidays, and it is our goal to make sure they are adopting from shelters.”
The Austin Humane Society is at 124 West Anderson Lane. For more information click here.
The Austin Animal Center is at 7201 Levander Loop (near Airport and U.S. 183). For more information click here.
