AUSTIN -- A fun-filled event took place over the weekend as Austin families gathered to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Chanukah.
Chanukah in the Hood was held at the Central Market off North Lamar. It featured a live performance by the Yiddish Cowboys.
The Jewish Community Association of Austin organized the free event. It included traditional holiday treats, children's activities and arts and crafts.
Chanukah started Saturday and lasts until Dec. 16.
