SAN ANTONIO -- Anyone considering a facelift procedure may jokingly say they're starting to look like a wrinkly old Chinese Shar Pei.
At least one Shar Pei would say it's no joking matter -- you know, if dogs could talk.
Sesame had so many wrinkles on his face that he could hardly open his eyes. The extra weight from all the wrinkles also closed his ears, causing chronic ear infections.
The San Antonio Humane Society announced on Monday they have successfully given Sesame a facelift, and the 2-year-old pup is now ready for adoption.
"After two surgeries to remove excess skin and pin back his ears, Sesame's eyes have finally opened and he is able to see the world for the first time as an adult," according to a press release.
Workers with the humane society explained that Shar Peis are often bred to have as many wrinkles as possible. As in Sesame's case, the extra skin can sometimes cause hearing and vision problems.
Anyone interested in adopting Sesame should call the San Antonio Humane Society at (210) 226-7461.
