TAMPA, Florida -- A sea turtle is now back where he belongs after getting dangerously close to ending up on the dinner table.
The young turtle ended up on the end of a fishing line off Davis Island near Tampa. Fisherman didn't release him at first, they planned to cook and eat him.
But because the turtle is a federally protected species, eating him would be illegal. A neighbor called authorities when he saw the turtle.
Fish and wildlife officials seized the turtle, now named Lucky, and turned him over to the Florida aquarium.
After nursing Lucky back to health, workers brought him back to the bay and released him.
