WEST, Texas -- Donations are piling up at the Best Western Czech Inn Hotel. It is where many West residents are staying after they were displaced from their homes Wednesday night.

Joann Williams has been there since the explosion. She lost her home in the blast but says it was thanks to an ice cream bar that she survived.

"I walked in the kitchen to get an ice cream bar and that's when the explosion hit. The lights went out, immediately everything went dark and the ceiling caved in on me. Had I been in the living room, I would have been hit by a double window that shattered," Williams said.

Williams says she is amazed at all of the support they're feeling from around the world.

Volunteers in West said I-35 is full of people headed here bringing items, so much so that some locations aren't even accepting more donations.

The Best Western Hotel told us they'll continue to take any donations though, even if it fills up their lobby. They know people here will need it in the coming weeks.
