AUSTIN -- A strong cold front is expected to hit Central Texas Wednesday night, bringing rain and storm chances with it.

Wednesday is expected to hit the mid to upper 80s before the front hits. Then a 30 percent chance of rain and an even bigger chance for showers and storms will roll through in the evening.

Severe weather could hit west of Austin Wednesday evening through Thursday morning. There could be hail and gusty winds with these isolated storms.

The cold front will last through sunrise Thursday with afternoon temperatures reaching the 50s and 60s. On Thursday wind gusts are expected to blow 30 to 40 mph.
