AUSTIN -- Rain continues to fall on Central Texas Friday after an outbreak of lightning and hail.

Parts of the Hill Country got a beating overnight from a hail storm. There were initial reports near Fredericksburg of hail damage to cars and homes. Some of it was described as the size of a golf ball, about two inches in diameter.

The road to work for many Friday was a slippery one. Austin police officers tell KVUE they responded to 24 accidents between 6:30 and 9:15 a.m.

Rain gave Bull Creek a little boost. But all this rain isn't enough to fill up the lakes. About 92 percent of Texas is in a drought, compared to 67 percent last year. Lake Travis is looking low and is now 37 percent full.

There is a chance for more hail Friday as scattered storms move into the area.

Roads will be wet Friday so authorities ask drivers to use caution.
