Dallas-based AT&T is stepping up its veteran recruiting efforts with the goal of hiring 5,000 veterans and their family members over the next five years. About 60 percent who joined AT&T last year made their transition to the private sector as technicians.
And speaking of AT&T, it's actually one of several companies introducing natural gas vehicles to their company's fleet. AT&T has about 5,200 natural gas vans - that's about 7 percent of their entire fleet. Other companies like Ryder and UPS are also switching as natural gas proves to be cheaper and cleaner. Compressed natural gas is almost a dollar cheaper than diesel per gallon.
Dallas-based Chuck E. Cheese was ranked as the most kid-friendly restaurant by Technomic. The number one ranking came as part of a report that tracked the performance of 115 restaurant chains.
Silver Jeans company out of Canada is tapping Texas for its first retail location at the Woodlands mall in July. Mall locations in McAllen and Frisco will open later this year. Silver Jeans cost up to $100.
