There is a sickening smell taking over the U.S. Botanical Garden located next to the Capitol in Washington D.C.

Curious crowds are experiencing the fleeting bloom of the unusual corpse flower. It is famous for smelling like rotting flesh when it blooms.

Garden officials say the flower hit "peak smell" earlier Monday but will open for one or two days.
