TRAVIS COUNTY -- A party in Southeast Travis County ended with a police officer being hit by a truck and security guards shooting at the driver.

It happened around 2:13 a.m. Sunday at the Crown Event Center near Highway 183.

Officials with the Travis County Sheriff's Office say as the party was ending, a driver in a black four-door pickup truck was driving erratically through the parking lot.

A Mustang Ridge police officer, working off-duty with security at the center, tried to stop the driver on foot. He was instead hit by the truck.

That's when other security guards opened fire. The driver got away. The young male officer was taken to UMC Brackenridge with minor injuries.

Now deputies are searching for the driver. Anyone with information is asked to call the Travis County Sheriff's Office.
