SAN ANTONIO-- Savannah Gomez turned six on Thursday. On Friday night she celebrated— quinceañera-style with 400 people.
Andres and Sylvia Gomez have four other children. Savannah is the youngest and the only girl. She helps out with the newborn, But, Savannah tires easily as she's undergoing radiation and chemo therapy for a brain tumor.
Worried their daughter wouldn't make it to the age of 15 to experience a quinceañera, the Gomez family decided to party with a quinceañera-themed birthday.
"We want to be able to plan her quinceañera when she turns 15 years, but we don't know what will happen, so I wanted her to experience it," said Sylvia Gomez.
Doctors have told the family the brain tumor is inoperable. Last March, doctors said Savannah might survive a few years at most.
"Her smile lights up the room," said Andres Gomez.c
