Congress Avenue in front of the Paramount Theater took on the glitz and glamour of Hollywood Saturday afternoon into the evening.
The Paramount was the setting for three movie premieres starting with a film called "Wake" starring Jamie-Lynn Sigler from The Sopranos and her co-star Josh Stewart.
Both actors posed for pictures and interviews as anxious fans clamored around them to get a good shot.
SXSW 2010 is Sigler and Stewart's first trip to Austin.
"It's like a small town dressed up in a big city. It's great. The people are nice. The food's awesome, it's great.", said Stewart.
After "Wake" wrapped up, a film shot by a French director called "Micmacs" premiered at 6:45 p.m.
SXSW film organizers say attendees with badges get first dibs at movies showing over the next six days.
People without badges can get in to see movie premieres, however it pays off to arrive early.
"Once music begins on Wednesday the 17th, there's a lot more opportunity to see films because the houses are opened up.", said Rebecca Feferman with SXSW.
