AOMORI, Japan -- A Japanese village has transformed rice plants into amazing works of art.

Two giant murals of Marilyn Monroe and a traditional Japanese courtesan are on display right now - all made out of rice plants. The villagers used nine kinds of plants in seven colors to fashion artworks on the field.

This particular exhibition began 21 years ago to attract tourists to the area.

The exhibition runs until the middle of August.
