AUSTIN -- A controversial abortion bill could be on the governor's desk by the end of the week.
State lawmaker Kirk Watson says it looks like the Senate will vote on House Bill 2 on Friday.
A handful of protesters started shouting at lawmakers in the House Wednesday morning when the chamber passed the bill on the third reading. DPS officers dragged them out.
The bill would restrict abortions after 20 weeks and effectively close all but a few of the state's more than 40 clinics. If it becomes law, Democrats say they'll fight it in court.
