AUSTIN -- Starting Saturday, Austin Police will be out on the streets enforcing a new initiative, Operation Safe Passage.

Extra officers will stand in areas near Sixth Street and parking lots close to I-35 to make sure people are safe after bars close in downtown Austin.

The move is a direct response to a viral video of a fight on 6th Street near APD headquarters involving two groups of men. That video was filmed on January 26.

So far, no charges have been filed, but Austin police are asking for the person behind the camera to come forward and help with the investigation.
