FAIRFIELD, Connecticut -- A husband and wife in Connecticut have been married longer than anyone in the United States.
John Betar is 101 years old. His wife Ann is 97. They were married back in November of 1932, which means they celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary recently.
John and Ann say they were neighbors growing up. Ann's family had arranged for her to marry another man, but John wasn't having that. The pair ran off together and got married instead.
They have five children, 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
