AUSTIN -- It was a dream comes true for more than two dozen kids across Central Texas Wednesday. They got the exhilaration of going for a drive in a hot rod.
It's part of the Longhorn Corvette Club's annual Sunshine Kids Cruise. The group gives children battling cancer a ride in the car of their dreams from San Marcos to Austin.
Owners say it means everything to see a kid smile.
"Just for them to forget about life and challenges and go out and have a little fun...It's a blast," said John Borek with Autocraft Bodywerks.
One of the kids got to ride in the Batmobile.
At the end of their drive, the kids also got a tour of the State Capitol.
