A fan sank a half court shot, but missed out on the $50,000 jackpot.
Alex Pertmann of Maryland Heights made a layup, then took two attempts to make his free throw, then ran to half court and nailed it as time on the contest ran out.
The fan is understandably excited, but he forgot one thing. The contest required him to make a shot from the three point line.
As a consolatioin prize, the valley gave the 22-year-old Pertmann four tickets to the tournament for life.
