Exxon signed an agreement with Qatar Petroleum International to construct a $10 billion natural gas export terminal in Texas. The project will involve installing gas liquefaction equipment at an existing facility jointly-owned by the companies in Sabine Pass. The companies plan to ship almost $16 million metric tons of natural gas annually from that facility.
AT&T is creating a pay-as-you go unit that offers mobile service with no annual contract. AIO Wireless will sell a range of phones including Apple's iPhone with data plans from $35 to $70 a month. The Dallas-based company is working to compete with T-Mobile to win budget conscious customers.
General Motors will start delivering the redesigned Chevy Silverado to dealer lots this month, and the new 2014 model year double cab goes on sale later this summer. Pick-ups are important to GM's bottom line since they helped make up more than one-fifth of its U.S. sales last year. GM says the 2014 Silverado will get 23 miles a gallon in highway driving and will start at $23,500.
Austin-based Tito's handmade vodka has landed a huge win. United Airlines says that the Texas-made vodka will be the exclusive vodka brand served on all the airline's flights worldwide. Tito's vodka is one of the fastest growing micro distilleries in the U.S.
