AUSTIN -- Watch out for dirty hands and roaches at two Austin restaurants.

KVUE began in northwest Austin at the Hai Ky at 3808 Spicewood Springs. It failed its Austin Travis County health inspection on Aug. 14 with a score of 69.

Problems spotted by the inspector include two hand sinks without hot water, cockroaches in the kitchen and dry storage area and shrimp, eggs and beef held at the wrong temperature.. all of it was thrown out.

On the required follow up inspection on Sept. 3, Hai Ky passed with a score of 88.

KVUE's next stop was the Taco Cabana at 517 West Martin Luther King failed its health inspection on Sept. 10 with a score of 53.

Violations include employees handing dirty dishes, trash and money and then handling food and clean dishes. Also, there was no hot water at the facility and cockroaches behind the freezer and water heater, as well as mold in the ice machine.

On the required follow up on inspection on Sept. 19, the restaurant passed with a score of 82.
