OCONEE COUNTY, Georgia -- A minivan barrels through a jewelry store, and the whole thing is caught on camera.
The store's owner watched the whole crash unfold right in front of her. She was working with a customer when the van careened into the Georgia store. There was flying glass, and the window's frame hit the 63-year-old customer.
"She said, 'Can you please help me up, where's my purse?' She was all very sedate and smooth, soft talking. She said her head hurt a little bit, I guess so. It was split open in the back. She now has 12 to 15 staples," the store's jeweler said.
The driver told police a carbon-dioxide canister lodged itself against the gas pedal, forcing the vehicle into the store.
The store reopened for business in a matter of days, but the damage is still visible on some of the showcases.
