The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is listing a blind salamander found only in Texas as endangered. The agency also labeled it as threatened.

The Jollyville Plateau salamander lives in a small area of Central Texas, including parts of Williamson County.

Development is encroaching on its habitat.

Labeling the salamander as threatened will force developers to work around its home.
