A human chain was formed Wednesday to stop the closing of a music venue and bar on the campus of University of Texas.
The group Friends of the Cactus Cafe and other supporters came together on campus to reveal 6,000 signatures on a petition roll.
Organizers hope the effort will reinforce the importance and popularity of the cafe.
In January, the Texas Union Board decided to close it in order to cut expenses.
Since then, university leaders announced they're discussing three options for saving the café and are holding public forums.
