DALLAS — The Davis Building in downtown Dallas was lit up in a rainbow of colors Monday night in honor of Tuesday's U.S. Supreme Court hearings on two gay marriage cases.

Also on the eve of the marriage equality debate, a rally was held in Dallas' Oak Lawn neighborhood. Supporters of same-sex marriage held signs with slogans like "Liberty for All."

The Supreme Court will hear arguments challenging California's Proposition 8, which bans same-sex marriage.

Then on Wednesday, the Court takes up the Defense of Marriage Act, which denies federal benefits to same-sex couples who are legally married in their states.

Final rulings on those cases are not expected until summer.
