AUSTIN -- Starting Saturday, you have another way to get around the downtown area.
B-Cycle, a bike sharing program, launched with plans to expand by South By Southwest.
Congressman Lloyd Doggett spoke at a dedication ceremony Saturday morning. Congressman said this program is for "clean air, for healthy living, and just fun."
Craig Staley is the founder of B-Cycle, and says they're just getting started.
At launch, there are 11 stations serving downtown and they plan to expand to 40 new stations by South By Southwest.
All you have to do is find a bike rental rack, swipe your credit or membership card, and ride. You can purchase a day pass, weekly rate or annual membership.
B-Cycle is a local non profit, no city tax dollars were used. A day rate is eight dollars, though now until Jan. 1, it's only one dollar.
