DALLAS — The Bank of America Plaza tower, the tallest building in Dallas, has been without its trademark emerald green outline since May, when work began to replace the lighting system.

The new outline will be formally switched on this Thursday, but you may have seen a rainbow of colors on the building Monday as the lights are apparently being tested.

The company that owns the 72-story building says 9,000 feet of high-intensity and energy-efficient LED bulbs have been installed to replace the original argon tubes, which couldn't be changed from green.

Thursday's lighting ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m. and will include a demonstration of the system's colorful new capabilities.
