Some whale watchers get a much closer view than they expected.
Two humpback whales came extremely close to a boat and some divers as they breached the surface of the Pacific Saturday, scooping up huge mouthfuls of fish.
It happened near Morro Bay, California about 130 miles north of Los Angeles.
Two divers were in the water right next to the giant animals but weren't hurt.
According to the National Geographic Society, humpbacks can grow longer than 60 feet and weigh more than 40 tons.
