DALLAS, Texas — Walmart employees picketed the company's store on West Wheatland Road in Dallas on Tuesday.

They said the company retaliates against workers who speak out against low wages and cutting hours.

The workers said wages are so low that some must rely on public programs to support their families.

Walmart told KVUE sister station WFAA that it has some of the best jobs and benefits in the retail industry. Walmart also said its salaries are equivalent to — or better than — its competitors.
