Western swing
The Quebe Sisters Band, a sister act from Fort Worth, will perform at the Roots Music series' Western swing concert in Fredericksburg on Saturday.
Also to perform is Billy Mata & the Texas Tradition.
The annual Roots Music in the Texas Hill Country series features emerging and established artists in outdoor concerts at the Pioneer Museum.
Concerts begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10; youths 17 and younger are admitted free. See the Web site for a $2 discount coupon. Bring lawn chairs or use folding chairs that are provided. Catered meals are sold beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Timberwood Concert Series is winding down at the Magic Springs & Crystal Falls theme park at Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas.
The final three concerts this summer are country band Cross Canadian Ragweed on Saturday, rhythm and blues group Morris Day and the Time on Aug. 23, and classic rock band the Spin Doctors on Aug. 30.
The concerts begin at 8 p.m. and are included in the price of park admission.

Fodor's has published the first edition of its Fodor's Texas guidebook.
The 540-page book includes chapters on the state's largest metropolitan areas and key regions such as the Hill Country, East Texas, West Texas and the Panhandle. It also has chapters on Big Bend National Park and Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Oddly, it also includes a chapter on Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico and it groups Shreveport, La., with Texarkana in the East Texas chapter.
