SAN ANTONIO -- A shooting in southeast San Antonio left two children riddled with gunshot wounds Saturday.
One of the victims, a 6-year-old boy, was transported to an area hospital after being shot in the face and body, according to the San Antonio Police Department. Police said a 11-year-old girl was also shot multiple times; however, her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The gunfire erupted during a domestic dispute. Investigators said it was too early to tell if Joe Mercado was aiming for the children, but officers said the shots were fired from close range.
Ramos fled the scene in a tan-colored Kia Forte with the license plate DBT2908 just after 1 p.m. and police have been searching for him since, according to SAPD. A K-9 team and SAPD's Blue Eagle helicopter were called to assist with the search.
The shooting happened in 200 block of Anton Drive, near Goliad Road and Pecan Valley Drive, just east of Interstate 37.
Ramos is about 5'11", weighting about 200 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, please call 911 immediately.
Investigators said Ramos will likely face attempted capital murder charges when caught.
