SEGUIN, Texas – For one Seguin senior, his last high school football game is one he’ll never forget.
Travis Brothers, a senior special needs student at Seguin High school, scored a touchdown Friday night in the final minutes of their game against Boerne Champion. After running into the end zone, Travis was immediately surrounded by players from both teams and the entire sideline.
According to USA Today High School Sports, Travis attended every practice and is listed as a linebacker on the team’s roster.
Throughout his time with the team, Travis has played of kickoffs and a few plays on the defensive line in the fourth quarter. But this last game was his chance to run with the ball.
And Travis made it count.
Seguin was trailing Boerne Champion 51-28. USA Today High School Sports reported that the two coaches met with the lead official during a timeout with three minutes left.
That’s when Travis came in the game and took off.
