The Longhorns need to win their last two games (Florida Atlantic and Texas A&M) to be bowl eligible with six wins...  there is a chance for a team with only 5 wins to go to a bowl if less than 70 teams win 6 games...  the projection last week was 67 or 68 would hit the magic number... experts now say the projection is 70 or 71...

James Kirkendoll says there's no pressure on the team because things are so bad...  he says they have the talent to win the last two games but they have to practice hard and get back to the basics...

Malcolm Williams describes the Longhorns' slump as "unexplainable"... and Garrett Gilbert says "losing hurts"... Garrett says there is a "sense of urgency to win the last two games"... but he claims the team is not uptight...

Howard Schnellenberger is the coach at Florida Atlantic... he won the national championship at Miami in 1983... he quit for a job in the USFL and was replaced by Jimmy Johnson...  Schnellenberger has also coached at Louisville and Oklahoma...

Florida Atlantic was won three games in a row...

Texas has won 14 straight against teams from the Sun Belt Conference, including a 52-10 win over Florida Atlantic in 2008... they've also beaten North Texas, Louisiana Lafayette, Arkansas State, and Louisiana Monroe...

Texas is 119th in the country in turnover margin, gaining only 13 while losing 25... the only major college team that is worse is Middle Tennessee...

Texas continues to drop in the scoring offense, now 97th in the country at 21.7 points per game... there are 120 teams...
