The 48-45 loss to West Virginia was just the third time Texas has scored 40 points or more and still lost. The others were Kansas State in 2006 (42-45) and Houston in 1987 (40-60).

Mack Brown says there is “disappointment” after the loss to the Mountaineers.

The Longhorns have eight different players with a play of 40 yards or more so far this year. The Horns are 6th in the nation in scoring offense.

The UT defense is 90th in the nation against the pass and 83rd in the nation against the rush.  Mack Brown says he and defensive coordinator Manny Diaz are “on the same page”.  Their goal in the West Virginia game was to slow down the Mountaineers passing attack.

Texas and Oklahoma have played every years since 1929 at the State Fair in Dallas.  Mack Brown is 6-8 against the Sooners, 5-8 against Bob Stoops.  Texas has won four of the last seven, but OU has won two in a row.

This is only the 6th time in the last 55 years the Horns have gone to the OU game coming off a loss.
David Ash has only thrown one interception so far this year, saying football is like a “big game of keep away.”

Longhorn coaches keep track of “explosive plays”.  Those are runs of more than 12 yards and passes of more than 16 yards.  Texas has 46 explosive plays so far this year.  Their opponents have 48.
